Progress update and request for input

Fellow Mercenaries,
it is time for another update, you should know how things are going with your game :)
There are a few things to share, the most important one being that timing continues to look good for end September delivery and that so far we haven't encountered any problems that couldn't be solved.
If you live in the US, please keep reading or scroll down to the last point, we will be asking you for input regarding a "demo" marketing activity that we are investigating.
PRE-PRODUCTION UPDATE
In our last mail we told you that we were correcting some minor issues, like the cloth bags, the wood color of some tokens, or the inlay. They are all solved by now. Production continues to be under way for the more time-consuming items (wooden tokens, dice) and we will soon begin with the paper printing and product assembling.

We also designed a sealed carton sleeve for the Promo card set that more than a thousand of you pledged for.

SHIPPING PREPARATION
So what happens end July, when the product is finally ready? The product will be freight shipped to various distribution centers around the world. Shipping will take between 3 and 6 weeks and after customs clearance the product will be sent to you by the respective distribution hub.

All of our partners have long standing experience in picking and packaging games, so we expect the process to run very smoothly. And in case anything should go wrong, we will always be there to solve any issues.

By the way, some months ago we shared an interactive google map representing our (approximate!) backer locations with you, guess how many views it generated!
We have been repeatedly asked in the comments section for a confirmation of the card sizes and numbers in the game, for sleeving purposes. Unfortunately, we cannot update the FAQ section on the KS page anymore, so here goes a detailed break-down for all of those who don't frequent the comment section:

YOUR INPUT DESIRED! (US BACKERS ONLY)
Since we are not based in the US and don't have physical presence to demo the game at stores and/or fairs, we are looking at alternative ways to promote our game during the launch months.
We are considering to work with the ENVOY program by the company DoubleExposure. They offer a system of so-called heralds, gamers who volunteer to demo games at retail stores, gaming clubs and conventions, in exchange for a copy of the game.
Our request to you: Please let us know whether you have heard of the program or not, whether you had actual contact with a herald at some store or gaming night, and what your experience is with the program. This feedback will help us to decide on whether this (costly) program is worth the investment. Simply click HERE, even if you never heard of them, and it will take you less than a minute to help us.

Progress update and finalization of shipping addresses

while you are waiting for your game to arrive to your doorstep, it is time for another update, so you know how everything is going... to say it upfront, it's all going to plan so far, we are very satisfied.
Pre-Production Samples
We received pre-production samples of every single item from our Chinese manufacturer LongPack last week and are generally delighted with the quality. Here some pics for you to enjoy.

As was to be expected, there are a few things that we are not yet happy with and that we are ironing out with LongPack right now. As an example, we have changed the coloring and fabric of the cloth bags to make the illustrations stand out better. We didn't like the touch and feel of the bags, so we are now going for a softer material.
There were also some printing mistakes, like purple cut lines that were erroneously printed on the wooden tokens or minor "pollution" problems, where the background color of a token slightly influenced the image printed on top. All easy fixes, these problems are already addressed.
The height of the sleeve is now reduced by 1mm so that it is slightly shorter than the box and does not get dented during manipulation and transport.
Lastly, we have been working on optimising the cardboard insert that is designed to hold the Expansion box. With a few minor tweaks, this should be done soon as well.
Timing
Mass production of the items that take more time to produce has already started, in particular the dice and the wooden tokens are being molded, cut, engraved, printed, dried or polished while you are reading this. The "paper" items will go into mass production after we have received the updated pre-production samples of the adjusted material, which should be next week.
If everything continues to work out as planned we will finish production mid to end June and then freight ship the product to the fulfillment partners, which takes 6-8 weeks. Counting another month for the fufillment centers to get the product to you, we are looking at delivery end September, just as planned. You may get it earlier, too, but we don't want to promise that just yet.
Freezing of delivery addresses in backerkit
To make our job with the fufillment partners easier, we will freeze your address information in backerkit next week (May 9th) and export it, i.e. you will not be able to change your address on your own anymore after that. Don't worry, though, if you have to move later and know of it before August, just send us a mail to [email protected] and we will do the change manually from our side. Starting August, changes to your shipping address will still be possible, but may lead to a slightly delayed delivery or incur extra cost, we will have to see that in each individual case with the fulfillment partner. We will do our best so that you have maximum flexibility until the last days.

Prolongued time... just for promos

Fellow mercenaries,
earlier today we closed the pledge manager and with it the promo sale window, but many of you contacted us by direct messages and comments asking to be allowed to still order the promos. Apparently, many didn't get (or read ;) ) the update on the promos, so you missed the deadline.
No worries, while we need to keep the PM closed for core box orders, we can reopen it JUST for promo cards, without having an impact on our production timing. It is open again, you can access it here. We will keep it open until April 8th, after Eastern.
When you pledge for the promos, remember to open a NEW survey with the same email address as the one you used for your original pledge.
Sorry for giving a scare to some of you by using such a short window and then announcing the end of it before you even knew it had opened.

Late Pledge and Promo Card sale closed

Fellow Mercenaries,
we have finally closed any late pledge option and with it also finalized the Promo card sale started last Thursday. All that is left to do now for you is wait for the product to be produced and shipped to you. We will continue to send periodic updates to keep you up to speed with our progress.
All surveys are now locked down (no changes to product configuration allowed), but you can still change your shipping address, should you need to do so. Just access your survey and save the new address. At some point in time (July/August) we will have to freeze addresses, but we will confirm the exact date when it comes to it.
For those of you who ordered the new Promo card set (more than 800 were ordered by more than 700 backers), you now have 2 surveys with us. Please note that in case there were any differences in the shipping addresses of these two surveys, we would always ship to the address given for the original core box pledge.
